Top station is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Munnar. Crowded with visitors during almost all the time of the year, Top Station is one hell of a place to visit.

Top Station is 32 KM away from Munnar and is very close to the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The place is 1700 above sea level.

It’s just a roadside place and on the side, you can see beautiful tea plants on a hill along with the trees aligned perfectly, which makes it perfect for photoshoots. This is on your way to Top Station, so it wouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to get off here, capture some nice photographs and be on your way to the next place.

Eravikulam National Park

Who hasn’t heard about Eravikulam Nation Park right? This is one of the most popular destinations in Munnar. The park offers an amazing view from the top and also you get to see some of the rare animals and birds. This park is most visited when the Neelakurinji flower is bloomed and covers the entire hill in its magnificent color.

Upon reaching the place, you have to take a ticket. The tourism department will take you in their bus to halfway to the top of the hill and from there it is a walk of around 1.5 KM to the top of the hill. The path is paved making it easy to climb.

Lock Heart Gap

The Lock Heart Gap offers one of the best views when you’re traveling in the Munnar-Devikulam route. You might even have passed this point without noticing the beauty of it. Just located 13 KM away from Munnar, this is nothing but a point along the way, in which you can just stare away to the mountains and enjoy the stunning view. The panoramic view from this point is like no other destinations in Munnar. If you’re lucky, you get to see the mist covering and uncovering the mountains within minutes

Pothamedu Viewpoint

Pothamedu viewpoint is one among the many amazing viewpoints in Munnar. It’s just 4.5 KM away from Munnar so that you’ll be able to pay a quick visit if you are already here. It is said that you can also see the Idukki Arch Dam located 60 KM away from Pothamedu viewpoint if the sky is clear enough. The view is nothing but a panoramic scene of valley and river. Ideal place if you are up for some photographs.

Mattupetty Dam

Mattuperry Dam is a concrete gravity dam built in 1940. You can watch the valleys and enjoy the climate. The still water is so relaxing to just look upon. You can either enjoy the view or you can go for a boat ride here. Different types of boats such as speed boats, motorboat, and pedal boats are available at your disposal.
